Activism through Art

At Aidez Nous à Aider (ANA), we believe art is one of the most powerful tools to raise awareness, spark dialogue, and inspire action. Through our Activism Through Art project, we collaborate with artists from around the world to create murals that tell stories of migration, resilience, and climate change. These murals are not just visual statements—they are calls to action, inviting communities to reflect, learn, and act.

About the Project

Activism Through Art is an international mural initiative that connects artists, activists, and communities. Each mural is carefully designed and painted to reflect pressing issues surrounding migration, climate change, and social justice.

Our approach is inclusive: we welcome artists from diverse backgrounds to replicate and interpret our imagery in their own style, ensuring the global reach and local relevance of each piece. Each mural acts as a visual ambassador, conveying stories that often go unheard.

The Connection Between Migration and Climate Change

Migration and climate change are deeply intertwined. Environmental degradation, rising sea levels, and extreme weather events force millions to leave their homes. Our murals illustrate this connection, showing how climate crises exacerbate migration and how social justice, environmental stewardship, and migration rights are inseparable.

By centering climate change in our artwork, we aim to remind viewers that solving one crisis without the other is impossible. Migrants are not just statistics—they are witnesses and victims of a warming world, and their stories deserve to be amplified.

Download the Stencil

This is a downloadable stencil of our symbol for the migration crisis, which you can use to spray paint and raise awareness. Simply download the stencil, print it out, cut along the edges to remove the shape, and then use it as a template for your spray painting project.

Aidez Nous à Aider – Advocacy Focus

What the Murals Advocate For

Each mural carries a unique message, yet together they form a tapestry of advocacy. The themes include:

  • Safer Migration Pathways
Migrants face immense risks during journeys due to unsafe routes, human trafficking, and lack of access to basic resources. Our murals highlight the urgent need for policies and support systems that protect people on the move, ensuring that migration is a choice, not a hazard.
  • Ending Legal Pushbacks
Many governments enforce harsh measures that push migrants back across borders without due process, putting lives at risk. Through bold imagery, our murals call for the end of these practices and demand respect for human rights and dignity.
  • Implementing Regularization Programs
Undocumented people often live in fear, unable to access healthcare, education, or employment. Regularization programs provide legal pathways for migrants to safely integrate into society. Our murals convey that regularization is not just a policy—it is an act of humanity, safety, and equality.
