At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to empowering migrants through dedicated initiatives known as Migrant Empowerment Projects. These projects are designed to equip migrants with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in their new environments. By focusing on skill development, we aim to enhance their employability, foster financial independence, and facilitate their integration into society. Through targeted training programs and collaborative efforts, we strive to create opportunities for migrants to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Step into the intersection of art and activism with our latest initiative—unique shoes designed by migrants using the application Canva, available on our online platforms. A percentage of each sale directly supports the talented designers, highlighting their resilience in the face of vulnerability. The symbolism behind these shoes reflects the harsh reality migrants face, as authorities often confiscate their footwear, leaving them more exposed and powerless.
We have taken our logo and painted it in public spaces to bring more awareness to our cause, remember those who lost their lives at sea, and bring more discussion about the topic of migration. By painting a mural about migration, migrants can use art to share their experiences and connect with the local community. This can be a powerful way to promote empathy, understanding, and dialogue about the complex issue of migration.
One of our main objectives for our project is for the people we work with to develop practical skills that they can use anywhere. Teaching online and entrepreneurial skills to migrants in Morocco, helps them develop the tools and resources they need to succeed in the digital age. This can be a powerful way to promote economic empowerment and help migrants achieve their full potential.
We’ve initiated a project crafting sustainable jewelry from recycled materials. Our supplies primarily come from repurposed items found within the city, sourced from local markets and seamstresses. We repurpose old necklaces and beads, giving them new life by creating unique jewelry styles from our discovered materials.
From 2018-2023 we worked on several projects on food security for migrants and refugees in Tangier, Morocco. Every month we would put together packages of food and distribute them to groups of people in need. We would take photos and interview the people to learn more about migration.
